Reading

The Reading program at College of the Desert exists to provide for the training and advancement of students' general reading ability. The goal of this training is to prepare the student to successfully read, comprehend, and respond to college level expository writing. There are two levels in the program; Reading 051 and Reading 061.

This course is for students who have a vocabulary base for college-level reading, but need practice in analytical reading and critical thinking skills. The focus of this course is on improving comprehension. Students read college-level selections from different disciplines and content areas.
