College of the Desert Foundation

College of the Desert Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to provide financial support from the private and public sectors to help underwrite those programs and facilities at the College, which cannot be funded through other means. The Foundation Board and committees are composed of community leaders who volunteer to work with College staff to support the College’s specific needs, present and future. Giving programs of the Foundation include:

       The Fund for Student Success

Contributions to the Fund for Student Success empower the COD Foundation to respond quickly in meeting some of the most pressing initiatives so students can continue learning their trade, preparing for management-level positions, and pursuing and completing the quality education every student deserves. The fund promotes success in a range of ways such as purchasing textbooks, providing meal cards for food insecure students, supplying regalia for graduating students, supporting childcare tuition and services for student parents, funding Veteran support services, and meeting the basic needs of our most vulnerable student populations.  Gifts of any amount make a significant difference.

The President’s Circle

The President’s Circle is the Foundation’s leadership giving society. Members of the President’s Circle are philanthropic leaders from across the Coachella Valley who partner with the College Superintendent/President and leaders of the Foundation to support the priority needs of College of the Desert. Gifts between $1,000 and $25,000 are recognized as President’s Circle leadership gifts.

Legacy Leaders

The Legacy Society recognizes donors who have made provisions for the College of the Desert Foundation through their estate plans. In addition, those who make donations through rollover IRAs, gifts of life insurance, and all forms of life income gifts such as charitable gift annuities and gift trusts, are recognized as Legacy Society members.

Scholarship and Program Endowments

Gifts of $50,000 or more can be used to create endowed scholarships and endowed funds to support programmatic activities throughout the college.

Space Naming Opportunities

Legacy space naming opportunities for classrooms, labs, buildings and outdoor spaces are available for new, renovated or existing areas on all five of the College’s campuses.

Academic Angels

Academic Angels is a committee of the Foundation whose purpose is to serve as goodwill ambassadors for College of the Desert and to assist the Foundation in pursuing its goals. The organization hosts luncheons, events, and guest speakers and supports "Learning to Lead" a Leadership development program designed to help grow tomorrow's leaders in the Coachella Valley throughout the year to raise funds for scholarships and other College programs and services.
