Automotive Braking Systems Certificate of Achievement
The emphasis of the Automotive Braking Systems Certificate is on vehicle braking systems including their basic operation, function, service, and maintenance. The systems include Hydraulic principles, mechanical braking systems, measures, parking brake systems and computer-controlled antilock braking systems (ABS). The applicable courses comply with the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), meets the standards of National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) and integrate Mopar College Automotive Program (CAP) Local levels 0 and 1 online coursework.
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Safely work in shop environment and uphold environmental safety and regulations.
- Describe the basic operation of the major components of the braking systems.
- Perform basic service, repair, maintenance and diagnostics on braking systems.
- Pass the applicable Student Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams.
