Emergency Medical Responder Certificate of Completion
The need for emergency medical personnel in the Coachella Valley continues to increase.
The College of the Desert’s Emergency Medical Responder Certificate of Completion will help prepare current and future first responder professionals for the dynamic challenges of succeeding in a field of emergency medical services. This will help students develop a sense of the basic requirements for success in the future. This certificate allows students to complete the program while working part or full-time, with lab and lecture courses offered during weekday evenings.
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Identify the nature of a patient’s condition at the emergency medical responder level.
- Analyze and communicate a patient’s condition and initiate basic intervention as the team leader and as a team member.
- Demonstrate the basic knowledge and understanding of emergency medical technology and systems at an emergency medical responder level.
