Business Administration 2.0 AS-T Degree
Business Administration is the study of basic principles and techniques to effectively manage and lead organizations.
The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer 2.0 is designed for students planning to transfer to a 4-year university and major in general business or a more specialized field of business such as finance, accounting, international business, marketing, hospitality or management. The intent of the degree is to assist students in seamlessly transferring to a CSU. However, transfer requirements at four-year colleges and universities tend to vary from institution to institution; students should consult with a counselor for specific information regarding the transfer requirements of their preferred college or university.
This degree requires students to meet the following requirements:
- Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses,
- Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0,
- Minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major, and
- Completion of IGETC and/or CSU GE-Breadth.
This degree requires students to complete 60 CSU transferable units including completion of IGETC and 27 - 29 units in the major with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better. Title 5 requires that students must earn a “C” or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis. There are no additional graduation requirements. Students should consult with a counselor when planning to complete the degree for more information on university admission and transfer requirements.
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Be competitive in transferring to a four-year business school and/or acquire those skills necessary for success in business.
- Weigh information for solving business problems and responding to opportunities and changes.
- Communicate business information effectively using a variety of formats for a variety of audiences and purposes.
- Differentiate between different key functional areas of business and describe key skills needed in each area.
