Interaction Design AS Degree

The College offers an Associate of Science Degree in Interaction Design, as well as courses leading to transfer. Course work in this pathway lays the foundation for student-success as the first step toward successful entry into the labor market. Interaction Design curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions in web design and development, creative coding, front-end web, and mobile application design, interaction design, or UX (User Experience) design. Interaction design students apply industry-standard user experience strategies to the development of effective information architecture, intuitive user interfaces, and compelling interactive content. Utilizing research, experience mapping, wire-framing, usability testing, and other strategies, students use empathy to develop strong digital products. Students utilize visual communication and technology to create interactive experiences on a wide variety of digital platforms. The diverse body of work is refined into a strategic professional portfolio aimed at accomplishing each student’s educational and employment goals.
