Construction Management AS Degree (employment preparation)

The Associate of Science in Construction Management degree is intended to prepare students with a broad overview of construction, various related courses and local general education requirements to utilize in gaining employment in construction or any of the related fields in the building industry where they may be involved with the scheduling, estimating and construction of various projects. Individuals completing this degree may also choose to continue their education toward a baccalaureate, or advanced degree in Construction Management or related majors.

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:

  1. Evaluate building materials used in construction.
  2. Explain the drawing elements commonly found in a set of working drawings.
  3. Develop methods of project cost estimating and construction scheduling.
  4. Examine the environmental and social considerations involved in land use planning.
